GLASGOW ROCKS have put Darryl Wood in charge until the end of the season after cutting ties with Tony Garbelotto.

Five days after he was sacked as Scotland coach before resigning as Great Britain boss, Garbelotto’s eightmonth reign at the Emirates Arena ended.

Club owner Duncan Smillie said: “Darryl will step up from being assistant coach.” DAVID DENTON says a Scotland win over England would put the seal on a month made in heaven.

The loose-forward’s return from the internatio­nal wilderness for the win over France as well as landing a move to Leicester has made for a fantastic February.

But the No.8 believes a Six Nations success over England would be the icing on the cake and provide bragging rights over his new Tigers team-mates.

After an injury-induced lay-off which saw him earn his last cap in a tour of Japan in the summer of 2016, Denton admits he feared his days in the dark blue were over.

The 28-year-old said: “It has been a great month and do you know what? I’m really grateful to ... I don’t know who but I’m grateful.

“I did learn how quickly things can change in profession­al sport because they did for me.

“Any time you pick up an injury or come out of a squad, you’re giving somebody else a chance in the jersey you were in.

“It’s always a worry for any player and when I was sat back watching Scotland play games you do think, ‘Am I going to get back in? Am I going to get an opportunit­y?’
