Whingeing killer loses £3k court fight over Xbox
RACE-HATE killer Imran “Baldy” Shahid yesterday lost his bid for a £3000 payout from jail chiefs who confiscated his Xbox and penis pump.
The self-pitying killer moaned in court that he was “alone in the world” without his toys.
But a sheriff insisted she could not order a payout because he did not have receipts for the items.
Sheriff Christine McCrossan ruled that Shahid – who led the gang who kidnapped and murdered Glasgow schoolboy Kriss Donald – should be paid back the £219.20 he forked out for his Xbox 360.
But even that sum will be awarded against a debt owed to the Scottish Prison Service in an expenses claim over the penis pump proceedings.
Shahid, 40, originally tried to sue Peterhead prison last year when he was denied his penis pump and Xbox.
The games console was removed from his cell amid fears it could be used to connect to the internet. And he lost his bid to get back his sex toy at a civil hearing last November.
But he returned to court this week to seek recompense for his Xbox and games. He also sought to have his legal fees paid.
He argued HMP Grampian bosses had agreed to help him buy the Xbox but then took it away. He claimed he’d spent £1600 on games and accessories.
The murderer moaned: “At no point was I told by the Scottish Prison Service to keep receipts.
“I thought it was something I could enjoy for the rest of my sentence. I’m alone in the world. For them to say they’re taking no responsibility is absolutely shocking.”
Shahid was locked up in 2006 for a minimum of 25 years for the racist murder of 15-year-old Kriss.
Scottish Conservative justice spokesman Liam Kerr said: “We have to remember that jail sentences are a form of punishment. People may struggle to have sympathy for someone who kills a 15-year-old losing access to penis pumps and game consoles.”
