Photographers join forces to save creatures
THEY range from super-cute to incredibly majestic – and their images could help to save their species.
The photographers who captured these amazing apes on camera are determined that their work won’t be all that is left of the creatures in future.
Wildlife Photographers United and Born Free have launched a new crowd-funding campaign to publish a coffee table book called Remembering Great Apes, which will raise money to support vital conservation work.
The gorgeous book showcases breathtaking new shots of gorillas, chimps, orangutans and bonobos by esteemed photographers including Art Wolfe, Frans Lanting and Martyn Colbeck.
The project follows in the footsteps of Remembering Rhinos and Remembering Elephants, which have raised £300,000 to date for Born Free’s work.
The book is being crowdfunded through a Kickstarter campaigh launching at 9am this morning.
Remembering Wildlife founder Margot Raggett said: “I have been overwhelmed by how many people have embraced and supported the Remembering Wildlife book series and utterly thrilled at how that has translated into considerable funds for conservation projects.
