A BUSINESSMAN faces jail after being convicted of causing the death of a 13-year-old boy in a crash in a £1.2million Ferrari.

Matthew Cobden, 39, lost control of the supercar while taking Alexander Worth for a drive.

A court heard the Ferrari “accelerated uncontrollably” in a farm lane, causing it to flip and throw the pair from the vehicle. Neither Cobden nor Alexander were wearing seatbelts.

Cobden denied causing death by careless driving and said the car had a mechanical defect. He was convicted after a trial at Winchester Crown Court.

The trial heard that Cobden, who runs a storage business for classic cars on a farm site in North Warnborough, Hampshire, had been moving the Ferrari when he was approached by Alexander and his mother’s partner.

The pair asked if they could have a photograph of the teenager with the Ferrari and Cobden offered to give him a ride in the car.

Describing the crash, he said: “I didn’t do anything stupid.” Cobden will be sentenced on March 26. ENGLAND rugby coach Eddie Jones has hit out at “disgusting” physical and verbal abuse he endured on a train from Scotland after his side’s Calcutta Cup defeat.

The Australian vowed never to use public transport again after he was targeted twice on the train home.

A video shows supporters approaching Jones for a selfie. Other men then appear who taunt Jones over England’s 25-13 loss.

The coach was jostled as he tried to make his way to a waiting car.

One man approached the vehicle and shouted inside: “What about last night, ya baldy c***?”

Another shouted: “Ya baldy f ****** c***.”

The culprits sounded like they had Scottish accents.

Jones travelled alone in standard class on the 9.15am from Edinburgh to Manchester Oxford Road on Sunday after Saturday’s defeat at Murrayfield. The video showing the abuse was shot outside the Oxford Road station.

British Transport Police said they received a report of another incident as Jones travelled on a Manchester to London train later that day.

No arrests were made but inquiries continue.

Scottish Rugby said they were “appalled”.

A statement said: “The disgusting behaviour of those involved does not represent the values of our sport or its fans. The dignity Eddie and the England team showed on Saturday is in stark contrast to this ugly incident.”

Jones, 58, who’s known for winding up opposing teams and coaches, travelled from Scotland to Manchester to see United win against Chelsea on Sunday.

After the football, he completed the last leg of his journey to London.

Asked whether the abuse was physical or verbal, Jones replied: “A bit of both.”

Jones claimed comments made by Scotland rugby legend Gavin Hastings did not help.

Former Lions captain Hastings, 56, said rival fans had wanted to “rub his face in the dirt”.

He also spoke about Scotland prop Simon Berghan’s claim that “everyone hates England”.

Jones said: “If you talk about hate and you talk about rubbing peoples’ nose in the dirt and all those sorts of things, it incites certain behaviours.”
