MISSING TEEN IN COP VAN BLOODBATH
Jessica, 17, and man, 45, ‘critical’ after struggle
A TEENAGE girl and a 45-year-old man were in hospital last night after a struggle in the back of a police van ended in a bloodbath.
Jessica Roe, 17, who had been missing since Friday, and Stuart Lymer were both in a critical condition. Jessica
was last seen with Lymer in Staffordshire but the pair were traced to Perth yesterday. It’s understood they were being transported to a police station – after being spotted by officers at Perth train station – when a weapon, believed to be a knife, was used. Both ended up with serious injuries.
A police source said: “The two people are critically ill in hospital.
“They were both reported as missing people and picked up by police officers and put into the back of a van.
“There was a struggle and both have ended up hurt.”
Staffordshire police have been searching for the pair since Jessica, from Cannock, Staffordshire, was reported missing.
In an appeal before the pair were found, Detective Inspector Alan Lyford of Staffordshire Police said: “We have genuine concerns for Jessica’s safety.
“There is no suggestion Jessica was forcibly taken, however we need to bring her home to ensure she is safe.”
Last night, a police spokesman said: “Jessica Roe, aged 17, from Cannock, and Stuart Lymer, aged 45, from Uttoxeter, were found at Perth railway station.
“There is an ongoing investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
