SINC OR SWIM

- CRAIG SWAN c.swan@dailyrecord.co.uk

to the squad in January after the failed Pedro Caixinha reign and his new signings have hit the ground running.

Walker added: “I have struggled to make a case for Rangers going into recent matches against Celtic but I can make one for them on Sunday.

“Rangers are a more confident outfit. Greg Docherty, Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy have all settled quickly.

“I like Daniel Candeias as a worker and linking with James Tavernier down the right, while Josh Windass is scoring goals.

“Murphy we know can do good things and it’ll be a boost if he is fit. Alfredo Morelos can be hit or miss with chances but I like him because he goes back for more and he’s a really good team player, plus he’s top scorer.

“You would not be surprised if Rangers win this one, whereas you would’ve been in previous derbies.

“In recent times, the discussions have been ‘how many will Celtic score?’ going into these games.

“It was a big shock to everyone when it was 0-0 just before New Year but Murty has got something and I feel these are big games for him.

“If you want to stay in position at Rangers, you have to beat Celtic. It’s great the fixture is back to being a close contest. It’s fascinating.”

● Walker will provide expert analysis alongside commentator Ian Crocker for Sky Sports’ live coverage of the game from Ibrox at 12 noon.
