GARY ANDERSON admits he needs to keep fighting after suffering another night of Premier League frustration.

The Scots star had to settle for a point in Leeds after a 6-6 draw with Daryl Gurney.

Anderson was heading into night six of the series fresh from a major title success at the UK Open last weekend.

But once again in the league the 47-year-old was unable to find his flying best.

Anderson was in control at 3-1 up yet slipped badly midmatch to trail 6-4 and had to dig deep to snare a point.

He said: “I found it hard to back up last weekend. It was very different to Minehead where it was quiet and then we went to this big noise.

“But I had to dig in and I just can’t get my darts to go high.

“They keep dropping low and it’s driving me daft. I might to have to stand in higher heels next week.

“I’m getting there but I’m scraping it because I’m up there and I’m not playing the way I should be.

“It’s absolutely killing me never mind anyone else but I’ll keep on fighting.

“There was a time before when I would have given in but not now. I’ll keep battling and scrapping.”

Gurney was frustrated at missing a golden opening to win as he remained in the bottom two of the table. He said: “All credit to Gary. He’s still a hero of mine and he sticks in there.

“I missed a couple of opportunities and when I left the chances he stepped in and took them out.

“It’s encouraging on one hand I’m playing well yet annoying that I’m missing the chances to win.

“It’s a 50-50 feeling right now.”

Anderson moved up to four points in sixth spot but fellow Scot Peter Wright is skirting with relegation at the end of the first stage following another disastrous outing.

Snakebite was hammered 7-1 by Mensur Suljovic and is now just a point clear of the drop zone with three matches to go before the first cut-off.

Michael van Gerwen returned to the top with a 7-4 success over Simon Whitlock, while compatriot Raymond van Barneveld fought back from 5-3 down to beat bottom-ofthe-table Gerwyn Price.

World champion Rob Cross finished with a 121 checkout on the bull to beat Michael Smith 7-5 and knock him off top. It was a third straight Premier League win for Voltage that lifts him into the top four.
