Trust in jam over scones

NATIONAL Trust bosses have issued a grovelling apology after a photograph of a scone provoked a storm of protest.

A promotion for a Mother’s Day tea in Cornwall showed a scone with the jam on top of the cream.

Locals rushed to complain – because that is how they serve them in Devon. In Cornwall, it is jam first.

An NT spokesman said: “The member of staff responsible has marched back over the River Tamar.”
