Chaos at Crufts final as protester invades arena
A PROTESTER stole the limelight from a winning Scots whippet at Crufts yesterday by storming the prizegiving ceremony.
A man ran into the arena holding a banner saying, “Crufts canine eugenics” as Collooney Tartan Tease was being presented with the Best in Show prize. Owner Yvette Short, from Edinburgh, grabbed her dog as the protester from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals was grabbed by security.
The dramatic scenes at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham were captured by Channel 4 TV cameras.
