VIDEO FAN TO BE RAPPED OVER MOBILE USE

-

THE football fan who filmed Jamie Carragher spitting is due to be spoken to by police today about using a mobile phone while driving.

He captured the incident on his device while leaving Old Trafford on Saturday. But using a phone behind the wheel can result in a six-point penalty and a £200 fine.

An officer from Greater Manchester Police is expected to visit him at his home. But it is understood the father of one will not be prosecuted and will instead be given “advice”.

The AA said both he and Carragher should take stock of what happened and change their behaviour on the road.

Edmund King, AA president, suggested the pair should take road safety refresher courses. He said: “This unsavoury incident is a stark reminder to all drivers that they should concentrate on the road ahead rather than film or road rage at other drivers.”
