Flop Herrera ready for Mexican return

MEXICAN misfit Eduardo Herrera looks set to quit Rangers for a return home with Chivas ready to make a summer swoop.

The striker was signed by Pedro Caixinha last summer in a £1.5million deal from Pumas.

But the 29-year-old has netted just two goals all season and Caixinha’s departure has seen him drop down the pecking order. He hasn’t featured in the league this year under new gaffer Graeme Murty and Chivas have made an enquiry to see if Rangers will allow him to move once the transfer window reopens.

Chivas tried to buy Herrera two years ago only for Pumas to demand too much money.

But Gers shouldn’t be too hard to deal with even though Herrera is on a three-year deal.
