MP slams silence over missing Scot

AN MP has demanded help from the UK Government for the family of missing Scot Liam Colgan.

Drew Hendry called for ministers to be sent to the Commons to explain why they have failed to respond for three weeks to questions about Liam’s disappeara­nce in Hamburg.

The Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey MP said: “Three weeks ago today I raised the urgent case of Liam Colgan, the Inverness man who had gone missing in Hamburg.

“Despite taking the Leader of the House’s advice and writing to ministers, TELLY presenter Alex Jones might have expected a warm welcome in her native Wales.

Instead, the One Show star was treated to a descent into caves in the Brecon Beacons as part of three weeks later I have not had a response.

“The family is in trauma. Shouldn’t ministers come to the House and explain this lack of urgency?”

Leader of the House Andrea Leadsom said she recalled the case and was “sorry” to hear of the lack of action.

She said she would put her Sports Relief Mother of All Challenges.

She and a team of mums started off with a swim in Loch Ness on Monday and will finish with a run along the Welsh coast today. pressure on the Foreign Office for a response.

Liam, 29, was on his brother Eamonn’s stag weekend when he vanished on February 10.

The Help Find Liam Colgan campaign said yesterday: “There are still sightings coming in and we firmly believe he is waiting to be found.”
