SCOTT ALLAN has yet to taste defeat in five matches since he pitched up at Easter Road for a second stint.

The on-loan Celtic star is enjoying a resurgence in his career at Hibs – again.

He’s been in irresistible form since for Neil Lennon’s side since his January deadlineday switch from Dens Park.

Although Allan, 26, tearing it up in a Hibs jersey is nothing new.

In a year-long spell in the capital under Alan Stubbs the midfielder set the heather alight before sealing a deal to Celtic in the summer of 2015.

Stubbs acted as a mentor for Allan and even took him down south for an ill-fated loan at Rotherham in 2016-17.

But he reckons Allan’s football home is Easter Road – and always has been.

Stubbs said: “Scott is a born entertainer. It is great to see him back playing at such a high level. He looks like he is enjoying his football again.

“Sometimes players find a club that is the right fit and things just seem to click. Scott seems to have found that at Hibs. He has found a football home at Easter Road.

“Scott now has to weigh up what is more important to him. Moving to the big club where you are not necessarily going to play or finding a home where you get paid well and play every week.

“Is an extra £2000-£3000 a week worth much more than the happiness and comfort of being in a place where you are enjoying your football?

“I don’t think Scott should have left Hibs in the first place. He’s not been able to find regular first-team football under Brendan Rodgers because there’s a lot of quality and competition at that club.

“Scott being Scott wants to play all the time and knowing him as I do he’ll have felt frustrated and disappointed at the lack of opportunities.

“I took him to Rotherham and unfortunately I also had a player on loan from Chelsea, Izzy Brown, who affected the game more than Scott.

“He came back to Scotland and has gone to Hibs. Since Scott has gone to Hibs they haven’t lost a game and Neil is really happy with him.

“It is no coincidence Scott has really enjoyed his football twice in his career and both times have been while he has been playing for Hibs.”

Hibs are fourth in the Premiership, six points off second-placed Rangers with a game in hand.

Allan has helped Lennon’s men scoop 11 points out of a possible 15 and won the penalty that sealed a 2-1 win to triumph for the second time at Ibrox this season.

Then he blasted in the opener in the 2-0 derby win over Hearts at Easter Road.

Stubbs added: “It’s easy to see why Hibs are still in there fighting with Rangers and Aberdeen for second spot as Neil’s got them playing well.

“When you watch Scott now there is a maturity in his game that perhaps wasn’t there a few years ago.

“The smile is back on Scott’s face. It is clear for everybody to see he is enjoying his football again. That is great for Scott and for Hibs.”
