Singer Shereen from X Factor stars The Cutkelvins can’t wait for band’s tour and urges Scots to audition for talent show

BY MARIA CROCE been the glue for it all – she’s been the best. We all lived in the same house at that time and it was good to have siblings there.

“Our mum and dad taught us since we were young that we all stand as one.

“Even though our dad has passed, he’s still with us. That keeps all of us going as well.

“I feel everything up until now, Dad has been pulling the strings up there to try to make it work out for us.”

Losing a parent has made Shereen appreciate life more.

She said: “I feel like it makes you realise the value of every day and getting to spend that with family.

“That’s why being up on stage with my brothers is such a blessing. That’s something my dad did when he was younger with his siblings in a band so it’s like we’re carrying on a family tradition.

“Obviously all siblings fight but the good thing is we’re honest with each other. When it comes to music, if something is rubbish we’ll say – and that’s a good thing.

“When we go to hotels and we’re spending the whole day, that’s when things can get argumentat­ive.

“It’s just rubbish like someone has been messy. You get over it two seconds later, it’s just normal sibling stuff.

“If you were doing this by yourself it would get very lonely but with family there, you’re always having banter.” HEREEN’S eldest brother is Lewis, 29, and she has a sister Angel, 18. The band are enjoying spending time with family while in Scotland rehearsing.

And Kyle, 25, gets to see son JaydenLuca­s, who is one.

Shereen said: “We were away on his birthday but it’s nice to see him. When we went through to the judges’ houses stage in The X Factor, it was the hardest as Kyle missed his first steps and teeth coming in.”
