JAGS ISSUE SOS TO FANS

-

BY IAN ORR PARTICK THISTLE chairman David Beattie has issued a rallying cry to supporters to get behind the Jags as they face “five cup finals”.

The Premiership basement boys desperately need their fans’ backing as they bid to pull off the great escape after a dire nine-game winless run.

Partick have announced supporter incentives for the five post-split matches including reducing ticket prices to £15 and £10 for the home clash with Hamilton next Saturday when the club will pay a special tribute to legend John Lambie.

And a three-game home package that also includes crucial clashes with Ross County, who are only a point ahead of the Jags, and Motherwell costs £45 and £30.

Thistle will also provide free supporters’ buses for the trips to St Johnstone and Dundee.

Beattie hopes fans will now turn out in their numbers and boost the Jags’ survival bid by being the “12th man” in the remaining fixtures.

He said: “The board, management and players want to show their appreciation for the ongoing support.

“The team now face the equivalent of five cup finals and the players must use their determination and ability to fight to keep this club in the Premiership.

“To help them achieve that, your support’s never been more important. So for the two away games at St Johnstone and Dundee, Thistle will pay the full cost of supporters’ buses.

“For the three home games against Hamilton, Ross County and Motherwell we are offering a three-match package priced at £45 for adults and £30 for concessions.

“At our first home game there will be a range of tributes to the late, great John Lambie.

“It is still all to play for so I’m calling on every Jags fan to rally behind the club they love for one final push.

“Get behind our boys and be the 12th man – that has been so important when the team has needed you in the past. Together we can do this.”
