Well star eyeing winner’s medal – but first priority is to halt run of reds against Celts

So the irony isn’t lost on Kipre that he will face the same opposition in next month’s big one after Well railroaded Aberdeen 3-0 in Saturday’s semi.

The defender was desperate to help book a second successive domestic cup final appearance to atone for his blunder on the big stage last time.

But even Kipre saw the funny side of it all as he said: “Hopefully I can stay on the pitch for 90 minutes this time!

“I wanted to come back here and have another crack at a cup final as I was very disappoint­ed with what happened in the League Cup Final.

“I enjoyed the Aberdeen match and we played a good game. Everybody at the club is happy we have reached another cup final. We are now going to try our best to win the trophy. Regardless of my personal history against Celtic I just want to win the Cup now.

“If everyone is in good form then we can win the Cup. We just need to have the belief and determinat­ion we can do it.”

The Steelmen ran over the top of Aberdeen to seal a return to the National Stadium for a final in which they’ll face a Brendan Rodgers side now on the cusp of a historic double treble.
