Corner nabbed on South America flight

-

BY GERARD COUZENS A SUSPECT facing trial in Spain over the disappearance of Scots mum Lisa Brown has been arrested at Heathrow Airport.

Simon Corner, 35, was held on a European arrest warrant on a charge of conspiracy to murder.

He was arrested on a flight from South America and faces extradition to Spain next week.

Last month, Lisa’s family offered a £100,000 reward for information about her disappearance.

The mum of one was 32 when she vanished from her home in Guadiaro, Cadiz, in November 2015.

Lisa, originally from Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, is presumed dead by Spanish authorities and her family.

Corner was arrested in Denmark in April 2016.

He was released on bail last April and went on the run around Christmas.

A Met police spokesman said Corner had been arrested at Heathrow on Monday “at the request of Spanish authorities”.

The suspect appeared before Westminster magistrates on Tuesday.

Six other Britons are being investigated on suspicion of obstructing justice.

Lisa’s family flew to Cadiz to offer the reward and make a fresh appeal for information.

At the time, Britain’s ambassador to Spain Simon Manley said British authorities were working “shoulder to shoulder” wth their counterparts over there.

He added: “Few of us can imagine what Lisa’s family have gone through and are going through.”
