Pension pay gap

-

THE gender pay gap is deep-rooted and affects women at all stages of life.

Whether it’s young women trying to get a fair deal, or older professionals wondering why men are in the high-paying roles, the dice appear loaded against them.

A report shows pensions come with a pay gap too. On average, women get £30 less a week.

Women used to bear the brunt for taking time out to care for family members.

It’s supposed to be getting better after the new system was introduced in 2016.

The change will be cold comfort to those qualifying under the old system.

The pay gap has been written into the state system for decades. It’s a disgrace the unfair disadvantage is only now being tackled.
