A HEARTBROKEN dad has paid a touching tribute to his daughter after she was found stabbed to death in a garden.

Jenniffer Morgan, 33, was discovered in a pool of blood by her daughter Aime, 11, when she returned home from school on Wednesday.

They had only moved into their home in Alexander Place in Kirkintilloch, near Glasgow, three weeks ago.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged over the death. He is due to appear in court on Monday.

Jenniffer’s dad Terry Morgan, who now lives in Gibraltar, spoke of his devastation yesterday. He posted a picture on social media saying, “Me and my wee lassie”. He added: “She had a brilliant personality and she will always be in our hearts. We all miss her terribly.”

Terry’s wife Aida BacareseMorgan said: “Shine bright wee girl and look after us all. Gone too soon from us but will remain with us forever.”

Family friends also posted tributes to Jenniffer. Romina Connor wrote: “So sorry to hear the sad news. May she RIP. My condolences to you, Terry and all the family.” Kevin Roper said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Terry and the family during this difficult time.”

Pat Borastero Tribello said: “Thinking about you and all the family, sending our love.”

Jenniffer had moved to the ground-floor flat with Aime after living in temporary accommodation in Kirkintilloch.

Before that, she had lived with her sister Laura at her home in the town. Laura said: “It still has not sunk in yet. Jenniffer and I were just one of the same. She was bubbly and always up for a laugh.

“She just loved life. She was a normal girl who just wanted a quiet life and never caused any trouble.

“She waited three years to get a lovely wee house for her and my niece – somewhere they could have a lovely quiet life. And she’s not going to get that now. It is too tragic.”

Laura said Jenniffer had split from Aime’s father, Gary Smart, who lives in Coatbridge.

After Jenniffer was found, police sealed off the street and some neighbours weren’t allowed to return to their homes. Part of the street remained cordoned off as forensic officers searched the flat and surrounding areas.

Police are also studying CCTV. Yesterday, they searched a property in Scotstoun, Glasgow, as part of the probe.

A spokeswoman said: “As in every murder inquiry, circumstances surrounding who the victim was in contact with and what their movements were up until their death all form part of the investigation into establishing what happened to them.”
