McCANN: WRIGHT IS NOT WELCOME HERE

-

FROM BACK PAGE part in the infamous touchline bust-up with Zander Clark after last month’s 4-0 derby defeat.

But McCann is in no mood to bury the hatchet with Wright and he’s still fuming with him for seeking out the referee following the post-match rammy.

The former Rangers star rejected any suggestion they would clear the air today after the Saints boss revealed the warring duo haven’t spoken since the incident.

When asked if he would speak to his opposite number, McCann said: “Absolutely not. I have no intention of speaking to him.

“He’s not welcome around here. Maybe if I said something he’d go back and tell the referee like he did last time, so better off not talking to him.

“I’m not going to get into it here, it’s not Jeremy Kyle, but he said Clark did nothing and the evidence would show it. Well, Zander got two games and I got one.

“I’m not interested in anything Tommy has to say. During the heat of battle emotions run high.

“Generally after the final whistle they are done. I’ve never seen or heard of another manager going in to see the referee.”

McCann is instead focusing on a win he knows would make life very difficult for their relegation rivals.

He said: “In the last three games there has been a huge amount of evidence that we are a good side. At our best, we are a match for anyone.”
