HENRIKTIPS HAT TO SFA

-

HENRIK LARSSON is hoping some of his magic rubs off on Scottish strikers of the future after giving his backing to the SFA’s elite coaching programme.

The Celtic hero held an attacking masterclass alongside Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish and former Aberdeen star Eric Black for coaches at Orium.

Larsson talked them through some of his most famous strikes and hopes the programme will help the production line in his adopted homeland.

The super Swede said: “I went into real detail about each of the goals in the video, about how I approached and reacted to various in-game situations.

“Even if the coaches only took away one thing from what I said, hopefully it can BY MICHAEL GANNON play a part in creating good strikers for Scotland.”

The Hoops legend was brought on board by SFA performance director Malky Mackay and has been impressed by the work of his old Hoops pal.

Larsson told the SFA website: “I’ve known Malky for a long time so I didn’t have to think twice when he asked me to help out.

“Malky’s doing the right thing by placing an emphasis on educating the coaches because they’re the guys who will work with the kids.

“It’s to the credit of Malky and the SFA that they were able to attract guests of the calibre of Eric Black and Kenny Dalglish. Kenny’s knowledge is second to none.”
