GLASGOW scored a glam dunk yesterday as the star-spangled Harlem Globetrotters came to town.

The legendary US basketball team are, as befits their name, constantly travelling the world – and two of their biggest stars took a jump around the city’s riverside.

Zeus and Hoops were on a reconnaissance mission for a match in Glasgow this month.

They stopped off at a few landmarks and wowed locals with their ball skills.

Zeus – real name Julian McClurkin, all 6ft 8in of him – is in his eighth season with the basketball superstars and has been to Glasgow before.

He said: “This is my third time in Scotland. People always smile when they see the Harlem Globetrotters.

“Glasgow’s a cool city but this is the best the weather has been in all the times I’ve been here.”

Briana “Hoops” Green is one of four female Globetrotters.

The duo were in the city to promote their match against the Washington Generals, which is part of their 2018 world tour.

After taking in the Clydeside, they headed to the city centre, taking in the Duke of Wellington statue with his cone headwear, before visiting a chippy on the Gallowgate and the Barras market.

● The Globetrotters play the Generals on Thursday, May 24, at Braehead Arena.
