Flamboyant son inspired thousands

After Corrie superfan Martyn Hett, 29, was killed, his life inspired the “BeMore Martin” hashtag, which in turn encouraged his mum Figen Murray.

She said: “We gave him the spectacula­r send-off he’d have loved with Nick Grimshaw, Jason Manford, Michelle McManus and Mariah Carey paying moving tributes.

“We had to warn Helen Worth (Corrie’s Gail Platt) her face was on the coffin.

“In the weeks after, we received 2000 messages.”
