Witness, 61, tells brothel trial about flat where sex services cost ‘a bit extra’

-

BY ALAN McEWEN A CLIENT at an alleged brothel told a trial yesterday how he handed over cash to “the madam” before enjoying a massage.

James Saunders said he visited a flat in Kirkcaldy, where you could have a massage and oral sex if you “pay a bit extra”.

The unemployed 61-year-old told the jury he went to the premises “three or four times”.

He said on the first occasion, he paid £80 and received a full body massage from a “goodlooking Asian woman” wearing only “briefs”.

The witness was giving evidence at the trial of Chin Chih Chang, 53, who is accused of running a brothel in the town.

Saunders said he found an advert for the massage service after a Google search for “sex workers in Kirkcaldy”.

He told the town’s sheriff court that he phoned a number on the advert and spoke to a woman.

When he arrived at the address, the witness said he was let in by “the madam”. He identified Chang, 53, in the dock.

Fiscal depute Ronnie Hay asked Saunders why he thought she was the madam.

He replied: “She was taking the money.”

Saunders said two Chinese women, one in her 20s and another in her 30s, were also in the flat.

He told the court he was shown into a room where he stripped off and lay on a massage table. He added: “The girl was there without the boss.

“If you asked about extras, you gave the money to the lassie. The lassies got the extras, the madam didn’t.”

He said the woman “massaged everywhere” on his first visit and he didn’t pay for any extra services. Saunders added: “It was relaxing for me.”

Earlier, the court heard from Barry Livingstone, who lived in a flat above the alleged brothel.

He said he’d grown suspicious after spotting a massage table in a room through a flat window, while “men of all ages” were visiting through the day.

Barry, 45, said he did online searches for “escorts Kirkcaldy” and found an advert seemingly connected to the flat.

On Monday, Alasdair McIntosh, 56, told the court he’d received a “Brucie bonus” of a “h ***** b” after going to the flat for a massage for his sore back.

Chang, from Hove, Sussex, denies keeping, managing or assisting in the running of a brothel between April 5, 2016, and last May 31 and sending alleged profits from the sex business abroad.

The trial continues.
