somewhere and regroup. Then we can decide what we want to do with it all.

“We are very normal people and we don’t want drastic change.

“We are just going to sit back and try and comprehend what’s happened really.

“We are having the house redecorated in June so that will go ahead first.

“Do you know how hard it is to find a decorator who can paint a straight line? We’ve just found one so that has to go ahead. I don’t want the relationships we have with friends to change because we aren’t changing.

“And I hope that they don’t change. We are still the same people.

“I want to be able to go to the pub and be treated as normal customer… told of letting the news sink in over cups of tea. Then aged 54, they said they planned to take early retirement and travel the world.

In third place are Gerry and Lisa Cannings, from Peterborough, who pocketed £32,534,188 on February 13, 2016. They got their winning including being thrown out when I’ve fallen off the bar stool and all that.”

And David, who drives a Volkswagen transporter combi, insisted he will not be blowing the cash on fancy cars.

He said: “I am not going to go out and ticket after deciding not to bother cooking one Saturday night – Gerry bought five lucky dips on a whim while he was out grabbing some fish and chips.

David and Donna’s £21,044,592 win has put them 10th on the results table – and made them the Lottery’s buy a Porsche or a Ferrari or something. Everybody dreams of having a nice car. But if I wrote the cheque I’d be in tears.”

Donna also plans to buy herself a new handbag, after David announced plans to display the one that held their winning ticket on the wall.

The pair said the biggest relief is they now have the cash to take care of Donna’s 76-year-old dad and David’s mum, 85, from Hayes, West London.

Donna’s niece Laura Svennson, of Halstead, Essex, said she was overjoyed for her ‘“lovely” aunt.

She said: “That 5000th millionaires. But they’re all put in the shade by Britain’s biggest Euromillions winners.

Colin and Chris Weir from Largs, Ayrshire, won £161million in 2011.

Gerry & Lisa Pictures: Philip Coburn JOB Winner is an airport refueller is just ridiculous. I am so happy for them.” David, who turns 59 tomorrow, and Donna wed at a local register office in front of friends and family. He even brought his late father’s ashes as the sixth guest. The lucky couple initially tried to keep the win a secret, but decided to go public after struggling to contain the news. They are the National Lottery’s 5000th millionaires, with their £21,044,592 win. But they plan to continue playing the game every week. BY HENRY VAUGHAN A 95-YEAR-OLD man who is believed to suffer from dementia has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his female carer.

Two ambulance crews arrived at his first-floor flat on Thursday morning after a neighbour heard a scream at around 4am.

A 61-year-old woman was taken to hospital with head injuries but died just before 11am on Friday morning.

Detectives believe she was injured in the flat, where she was working as a carer. She is understood to have been an employee of a care agency.

The 95-year-old man, who neighbours said was frail and uses a walking stick, was taken to hospital as a precaution after being arrested.

Police said he was granted bail but will remain in hospital until he is moved to somewhere “his complex health and care needs can be managed”.

A neighbour who has lived in the block of flats in in Islington, north London, for 10 years said he was rarely seen outside since he and his wife fell ill.
