I hope I can make my Mark at Peterborough
MARK O’HARA admits he can’t wait to get started down south after completing his move from Dundee to Peterborough.
The 22-year-old was the League One side’s top summer transfer target and has signed a three-year deal after the clubs agreed terms.
O’Hara had offers from Motherwell and Plymouth while Hearts and Hibs were also interested in him.
But Posh boss Steve Evans gave assurances he will play in his preferred attacking midfield role after the youngster admitted his frustration at becoming a victim of his own versatility.
That, along with an improved financial package, was enough to convince O’Hara that London Road was the right place to carry on his football education.
And he even got a hug from larger-than-life character Barry Fry, Peterborough’s director of football.
He said: “He’s mad, he was giving me hugs and all that when I was meeting him. I went down the other day. Steve Evans has seemed the most keen on me.
“He says he’s going to play me in the right position.
“At Dundee, I ended up getting shifted around a couple of positions. The boss wants to play me in central midfield down there.” HIBS women’s head coach Grant Ross has warned his side not to get too full of themselves after crushing Celtic.
The Hibees won the Scottish Premier League Cup Final in style at the Falkirk Stadium, romping to a 9-0 win with Lizzie Arnot scoring five of the goals.
It could be part of a historic treble but Grant said: “We’ll not get ahead of ourselves. Obviously we’ve got ambition, we’ll look to compete in every competition. But it’s early days – we’ve only played a third of the league – so we’ll take our time.”
