You choose and then you cruise
IF YOU’RE looking for a cruise line that boasts a generous selection of ships and itineraries, it has to be MSC.
Not only do they already have 14 ships currently sailing the world’s oceans, they also have two more due to set sail on their maiden voyage in the next 12 months, and seven more due before 2026.
The first of these new ships will be the MSC Seaview, due to set sail this month. Designed identically to sister ship, MSC Seaside – which launched in December 2017 and homeports in Miami – MSC Seaview will offer Western Mediterranean cruises in her inaugural summer season, homeporting in Barcelona, Genoa and Marseille, with itineraries including stops in Sicily, Malta and Naples.
One of the most unique features of the Seaside Class ships will be the 360° Promenade with glass balustrades that wrap round the entire length of the ship. Seaview’s design will also include panoramic glass elevators, suspended glass floors and cleverly-designed pool areas with incredible sea views.
Next in the works is the megaship MSC Bellissima, which is due to be LUXURY LINER The new MSC Seaview christened in Southampton in March 2019. The 4500-passengner ship will be similar to MSC Meraviglia but with a few tweaks, including two new Cirque du Soleil shows, a French bistro called L’Atelier and a handful of British boutique brands including Radley, Buckley, and Cartwright and Butler.
MSC Cruises have also revealed their largest ever cruise vessel, the 181,000tonne MSC Grandiosa. The ship – which can host 6300 passengers – will set sail in 2019.
On board, you’ll find the Atmosphere Pool with lighting, a giant screen and distinctive design, a central promenade with shops and restaurants and the MSC Gym by Technogym ®.
MSC Grandiosa will sail the Western Mediterranean, calling at Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Valletta, Barcelona and Marseille.
