OTTO’S ROLE

-

DONALD Trump has said talks would not have taken place if not for the tragic death of Otto Warmbier.

The University of Virginia student, 22, pictured below, was touring North Korea when he was arrested for allegedly stealing a propaganda sign and given 15 years of hard labour.

He was freed after 17 months and returned to Ohio last June in a coma, dying six days later.

Speaking after the summit, the President said: “Otto Warmbier is a very special person. I think without Otto, this would not have happened. Something happened from that day – a lot of people started to focus on what was going on, including North Korea. I really think Otto is someone who did not die in vain.”
