WAITING IN AGONY

PATIENTS in chronic pain are waiting too long to be seen in hospitals.

There is a guarantee of 18 weeks maximum from referral to treatment. But in the the first three months of the year, only 71.5 per cent of patients were dealt with within that time – down from 72.3 per cent the previous quarter.
