IT used to be “veni, vidi, vici” – I came, I saw, I conquered but in Singapore, Trump and Kim came, they smiled, they had their photos taken and they talked.

They will keep talking, they want to be friends, North Korea will start to think about being nice, they will send home any remains from the Korean War and, that’s all there is to see, folks. It isn’t much but it’s a start and if it happens then the world will feel safer. Dennis Fitzgerald, Melbourne, Australia I’M so pleased that Kenny Dalglish has been awarded a knighthood by the Queen but it was long overdue. He deserved one for his incredible achievements on the football pitch with Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland. His support and care for the families of the 96 who were killed in the Hillsborough disaster should have earned one too. He also helped raise a fortune for his wife Marina’s cancer charity through things like the Santa Dash. Lord Dalglish is not a high enough honour for him, never mind Sir King Kenny. Others have got far more for far less. MC I WOULD like to thank everyone who came to my assistance after my fall on Queen’s Park Road near the New Victoria Hospital on Monday evening. A special thanks to Val and her son who insisted on driving me home and seeing me safely to my door. Brendan Cassidy, Glasgow
