He cited Josh Meekings for handball decision that never was – even though it was arguably outwith his remit – after Celtic kicked up a stink over the failure to be awarded a penalty. Meekings was eventually freed up for the Final.

MAY 2015

After citing Dundee United’s Nadir Ciftci for violent conduct against Inverness in February and a clash with Scott Brown in March – both were overturned. But Ciftci was then accused of biting Dundee’s Jim McAlister and went on to land an eightmatch ban with two suspended.

Neil Lennon landed two-game ban – that could be more – for aeroplane celebratio­ns in finalday 5-5 thriller against Rangers.

It wasn’t the first time McGlennan crossed swords with the Hibs boss. Lenny was hit with a ban and suspended sentence for bust-up at Kilmarnock and a set-to with Jim Duffy the previous campaign.
