Dons close in on deal for Gleeson
ABERDEEN are on the brink of snapping up Irish international midfielder Stephen Gleeson.
The 29-year-old left Ipswich at the end of the season after a shortterm deal and Dons boss Derek McInnes is set to bring him in.
Gleeson has won four caps for the Republic of Ireland and netted against Mexico last summer.
He made 10 appearances for Ipswich last season, five of which were as a starter, but was not offered a new deal after manager Mick McCarthy quit.
He is set to be Aberdeen’s latest piece of summer business after also securing the services of Hamilton Accies’ starlet Lewis Ferguson, which could yet go to a tribunal.
The Reds also snapped up Chris Forrester from Peterborough as McInnes tries to replace Kenny McLean who has joined Norwich.
