Odious TV host lambasts Lorraine for supporting Iceland not England

GOOD Morning Britain host Piers Morgan blasted Lorraine Kelly on air yesterday after she said she’d be supporting Iceland at the World Cup.

Lorraine, 58, said the “tiny, tiny wee country” had done “amazingly well” to qualify and she’d be rooting for them.

But Piers was raging that she wasn’t backing England, telling BY JULIE GILBERT her: “This is the trouble with Scots. Every time I try and warm to you.

“You say things like you’d rather Iceland win than England. That’s just so disloyal.”

Lorraine, who was speaking ahead of her show yesterday, accused him of putting words into her mouth. However, she twice dodged answering whether she’d prefer Iceland or England to win.

Lorraine said: “Because I live here. I probably... I don’t know... don’t put me on the spot like that, that’s mean.”

But Piers, 53, wasn’t letting her off answering.

He said: “She doesn’t want to go on the record saying England to win because she knows Scotland will turn on her.”

Lorraine told the host he was treating her like “one of these MPs you grill over Brexit”.

Piers then said: “This is the problem with Scots. They would literally rather Iceland win than England.”

Lorraine simply answered: “No we wouldn’t.”
