FROM PAGE 27 Ninja Warrior UK, has also developed her own cosmetic line – HIGlow – as well as being is the face of high street fashion brand New Look.

She married ex-JLS member-turned-presenter Marvin Humes in 2012 at Blenheim Palace and they have two daughters, Alaia-Mai who’s just turned five and Valentina Raine who’s one.

Now she’s a mum herself – she can probably reflect more on the advice her own mum gave her. Her mum told her not to mess with her hair when she was younger but Rochelle admits she didn’t listen. And it’s only recently she’s gone back to her own natural curls and stopped straightening her hair to help Alaia-Mai embrace hers.

Her little girl didn’t think she could be a princess – because she hadn’t seen any with curly hair. She didn’t even realise her own mum had natural curls.

So from the end of last year, Rochelle stopped straightening her own hair. Although she’s mad with herself for the damage she’s already done to her locks and doesn’t know why she bothered straightening them in the first place.

She has previously said: “My mum said this would happen to me. She’s loving telling me that she told me so. When I was 13 or 14 she’d say: ‘Don’t start messing with your hair, people would pay money to have hair like that.’ And I’d be like: ‘Oh, Mum, shh while I get my straighteners out!’ But she was right.”

Rochelle took to posting pictures of other curly haired women on her Instagram every Wednesday using the hashtags #Curlcrushwednesday and #Curlslikeus.

Going back to her own curls helped boost her little girl’s esteem and now Rochelle says she much prefers her own natural look.

In fact, if she was on a desert island – and had the choice of only three beauty products to take – she’d make sure she looked after her hair.

“Moisturiser, I hate dry skin. I love Kiehl’s.

“I’d also take a hair treatment, I’m always putting treatments in my hair. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is probably my favourite,” she explained.

“And coconut oil. I literally use it for everything - my hair, Fenty Beauty killawatt foil freestyle highlighter duo, £28, Harvey Nichols my skin, my babies. I take it with me everywhere.”

She’s also picked up plenty of beauty tips over the years. “I’m lucky because I get to have my make-up done quite a lot. I’m obsessed with contouring, but my tip would be don’t go out and buy a full contour kit – buy one shade darker than your foundation, and use that to contour.” But she admits she’s not keen on overhighlighting. “Highlights are one of my favourite things, but I can’t handle garish colours or what I call ‘Instagram make-up’ when it looks really fake and metallic; I’m not so keen on that.” She recently bought some of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty range. “It’s really good. I got a highlighter from there that I really like, it’s lovely.”

But her beauty staple that’s always in her handbag is a good lip balm. “I do one with my HIGlow line that I basically designed for me and my friends. It’s like a peachy, shimmery nude.” Rochelle says since having her kids her body shape has changed – and as her bust has got bigger so she’s changed her style.

Rochelle was surprised when she was asked to be the face of New Look.

She said: “I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, what do they want me for?’ Totally. It’s where I used to spend my pocket money on a Saturday afternoon.”

Rochelle is keen to show her daughters that if you work hard, you can achieve your dreams. “I think women can have it all now,” she has said. “And why not? It’s a struggle to multitask, but it can be done. I’d never give up on my dreams just because I’m married and have children, and my kids would hate if I did.”
