Scotland kid Jason can reach the heights
ST JOHNSTONE skipper Joe Shaughnessy is tipping Jason Kerr for the top.
The youngster broke into the first team in January and never looked back.
And the 21-year-old shone for Scott Gemmill’s young Scotland side which reached the semi-final of the Toulon tournament.
Wright rates Kerr highly and has tipped him for full international honours.
He said: “Jason came straight in and looked the part from the first game.
“He has done well for Scotland in the summer so we’re definitely looking for him to hit the ground running again this season.
“I was always impressed with him in training, he had something. The loan spell at Queen of the South did him a lot of good and he was brilliant for us.
“He’s a big lad. He wins a lot in the air but he’s really confident with the ball at his feet as well. Sometimes he tries things I would never try but he’s got the confidence to do that.
“The midfielders will tell you they’re happy to give him the ball and let him play. That’s good to have.
“The likes of Scott McKenna at Aberdeen and John Souttar at Hearts have more experience in the Premiership but once Jason gets a full season under his belt you’ll see even more improvement from him.
“This is a good place for him to play his football. Next summer we’ll be talking about him again.”
