Mex the most of it on cruise
IF CRUISING along the Mexico and California coast is still on your bucket list, you’re in luck as in December 2019 a new ship will be homeported in Long Beach, California: Carnival Panorama.
In March, it was announced that the upcoming Carnival Panorama will become the first ship in the Carnival fleet to be homeported on the US west coast in 20 years. Once it’s built and has made its way to the Golden State, it will embark on a year-round seven-day Mexican Riviera itinerary. This ship is filled with the familyfriendly activities you would expect from Carnival Cruises. Though its big draw is the Sport Square on the top deck. Here you’ll find basketball, mini-bowling and ping pong, as well as innovative activities like the SkyRide (a bike lane suspended in the air), and SkyCourse (a rope assault course suspended above the deck).
Then there’s WaterWorks waterpark, with classic spiralling waterslides, a giant bucket, an expanded SplashZone, water toys and more.
But if you’re looking to relax, there’s plenty of that. We recommend the Serenity adult-only retreat, where you’ll find a Jacuzzi, bar and swaying hammocks. Then there’s the Cloud 9 Spa, with a treatment menu that includes carefully-designed thermal suites that omit moist or dry air.
Food wise, you’ll find Carnival classics alongside restaurants that are on board the new Carnival Horizon. One of these culinary hubs is Guy’s Burger Joint, where Guy Fieri designed not only the burger and fries but also the rustic atmosphere.
At the end of a fun-packed day, there’s a range of staterooms and suites to choose from. Such as the Family Harbor Staterooms near the Family Harbor Lounge. Or the Cloud 9 Spa Staterooms and Suites that are found near the spa and come with a range of Elemis toiletries. But of course there’s still Interior Staterooms for the budget-conscious cruiser.
