Tory perv kept 220 child porn images

A FORMER Tory councillor who ran concerts to support children’s charities was found with more than 200 indecent images of kids on his computer.

The vile haul was discovered after police swooped on the home of Michael Jamieson, 69, in Perth last September.

Police found 219 images and one video of child porn.

Fifty-five of the images were in the worst category of such depravity.

At Perth Sheriff Court yesterday, former music teacher Jamieson admitted that between August 8, 2014, and April 28, 2016, he downloaded indecent images and had them in his possession.

Jamieson was elected to Perth and Kinross Council in May last year.

He was suspended by the Tory Party following a court appearance and ordered to resign.

The pervert was a director of the Perth Festival of the Arts and was associated with the Perth Youth Orchestra for several years.

He hosted the group’s annual Christmas concert in support of Childline Scotland.

He was secretary of the Perthshire Musical (Competition) Festival Association.

Jamieson was also a two-time past president of the local Rotary Club of Perth St John’s.

He previously worked for Perth and Kinross Council’s Instrumental Music Service and he was a stage manager for touring organisations.

Jamieson also carried out private music tuition.

He will be sentenced on August 20.
