Sharon Birchwood, 52, was found strangled and tied up with parcel tape at her home in the leafy suburbs of Surrey in 2007.

Her ex-husband, Graham Birchwood, discovered her body and became the prime suspect.

But what followed next was one of Surrey Police’s most challengin­g murder investigat­ions.

In a fascinatin­g journey through the case, Susanna Reid has been given access to the police tapes that reveal the interviews and forensics.

The answers began in the country lanes of Surrey but led to VICTIM Sharon Birchwood the backstreet­s of Thailand and an entirely new suspect.
