“We don’t understand how Glasgow’s fire and rescue work here – it’s very different to in the States.

A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters assisted six people from a van which had become stranded.”
Scottish Water confirmed that a burst water main caused the flooding and they warned locals that their supply could be disrupted.
A spokeswoman said: “Engineers are on site repairing a burst water main in Garscube Road, Glasgow. They are working hard to restore supplies to customers affected.
“Scottish Water apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
About 25,000 customers were thought to have had problems.
Properties in some parts of the city, including the Port Dundas, Cowcaddens, Firhill, Sighthill and Maryhill areas were still experiencing a loss of normal water supply, low water pressure or discoloured water last night.
