Levein still not finished with Gorgie revolution

-

BY JOHN GARDNER HEARTS boss Craig Levein could take his tally of summer signings to 15 after admitting he wants to land four more players.

The Jambos have been the busiest Premiership club in the transfer market, recruiting 11 players.

But Levein wants to add two keepers, with American Kevin Silva set to sign after a trial and the Tynecastle boss eyeing even more competition for new boy Zdenek Zlamal.

He has also not given up hope of striking a deal with Czech club Teplice to bring David Vanecek to Scotland now after the striker agreed a pre-contract.

And Levein has held talks with Sean Clare after the midfielder left Sheffield Wednesday.

Speaking about his search for more goalies, Levein said: “I think we will be keeping Kevin.

“We need a younger keeper for the reserves. He will compete with Kelby Mason in the reserve team and we will be bringing another goalkeeper in at first-team level.

“I don’t have anybody in place yet. I’m going to try and do that next week.”

Levein is also waiting to see if assistant boss Austin MacPhee will leave to become manager of Indian side Pune City.

The Super League club want the 38-year-old to take over following talks over the phone but a decision isn’t expected from MacPhee today.
