Toblerone to close gap.. at a peak price

-

Toblerone BY RUKI SAYID TOBLERONE has reversed its controversial move that widened the gaps between the choc’s triangular peaks, but it will cost fans dear.

Swiss bosses were ridiculed for the costcutting in 2016, with the new look blasted as like “a toothless comb” and “bicycle stand”.

One critic said: “The bar looked like the Alps before, now it’s more Holland.”

The gappy 150g version cost £1 but a new 200g bar, announced yesterday, will have a £2.50 price tag.

Glenn Caton, Northern Europe president of US parent firm Mondelez – which also owns Cadbury – said the 2016 decision had been “tricky”.

It was caused by big cost increases and was “a shortterm solution”, he told trade journal The Grocer. Stephanie Todd JODIE Whittaker has revealed she spent “a lot of time crying” after becoming the first female Time Lord.

Speaking at Comic-Con in the US, the actress told fans becoming the 13th Doctor was “an amazing moment”.

Jodie, 36, said: “I was thrown in the deep end during my first week of filming. Obviously, the first take of the first shot is exciting and terrifying – but when we moved on from the first shot to a different angle, I thought, ‘OK… this is tattooed on film forever, so I must be the Doctor’.

“It was a pretty amazing moment and not one I thought would happen. I’m a girl born in the 80s and the Doctor did not look like me, so it was a big moment. I’ve spent a lot of time crying about it.”

Fans at the event in San Diego also saw the Doctor’s new sonic screwdriver and the trailer for series 11, in which Jodie is joined by sidekicks Ryan, Yasmin and Graham – played by Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill and Bradley Walsh.
