Tributes paid as tragic gran dies in fall from horse
A GRAN who died after falling off her horse was “loved by everyone”, her family said.
Christina Sullivan, 73, suffered a head injury in the fall at stables near her home in Rickarton, Kincardineshire, on Wednesday.
Paramedics fought to save her but she died before she got to hospital.
Christina was a former lecturer and was wellknown in the area as a community campaigner.
Her husband Mike, a former Lib Dem councillor, said that she would be missed “enormously”.
He added: “She was loved by everyone.
“She was very interested in the local community and spent a lot of time working with the community council.
“She was also very politically motivated and very keen on CND. We went to demonstrations many times.
“She loved animals and was a philanthropist. She had four grandchildren in Denmark who she loved spending time with.
“She was a very fine character and I will miss her enormously.”
Christina, who was born in Denmark, had retired as a lecturer at Aberdeen University.
After her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, she became his carer, while continuing her community work
Phil Mills-Bishop was chairman of the local community council when she joined.
He said: “She was always so helpful and extremely supportive and didn’t ever want any recognition for her actions. We will all miss her terribly.”
