Key battles
AJER v BENDTNER
IT’S the battle of Scandinavia as Norway’s Kristoffer Ajer faces off against Denmark’s Nicklas Bendtner under the lights at Parkhead.
Youngster Ajer was sent out on loan during Brendan Rodgers’ first year in charge but became a key part of last term’s Treble-winning side.
Ajer will likely be facing off against Rosenborg’s No.9 who, due to a groin injury, had to pull out of Denmark’s World Cup squad. The former Arsenal striker scored twice in Rosenborg’s home leg against Valur in the previous qualifying round. NTCHAM v TRONDSEN HOOPS midfielder Olivier Ntcham enjoyed an impressive debut season. After signing from Manchester City, the 22-year-old played 48 games in the Treble-winning campaign and was involved in 15 goals (nine goals, six assists).
But his defensive capabilities need to be good as good as his attacking instincts when facing off against Rosenborg ace Anders Trondsen.
The 23-year-old Norwegian scored in the 3-1 win over Valur and has claimed one goal and three assists in his last nine league appearances.
EDOUARD v REGINIUSSEN
CELTIC’S record signing Odsonne Edouard spoke of his hunger for success as he claimed he wants to complete a treble Treble this campaign.
He desire to win can be seen in his goalscoring ability, netting 11 times last season. Edouard’s off the mark in this campaign already after scoring in the away win over Alashkert.
He faces off against defender Tore Reginiussen with the 32-year-old playing every minute this league campaign and earning eight clean sheets.
