CELTIC

CRAIG GORDON 6 No chance with Rosenborg’s shock opener but was rarely tested by the Norwegians after that and handling was sound.

CRISTIAN GAMBOA 7 Brought in from the cold with Celts struggling for defenders and was both sharp defensively and a threat going forward.

JACK HENDRY 5 Still learning and he didn’t have a great night. Rosenborg goal came after he’d given the ball away and then missed gilt-edged chance at other end.

KRISTOFFER AJER 7 Even at the age of 20 he was Celtic’s leader at the back. Stood up to the physical challenge of Bendtner and was composed on the ball stepping out.

KIERAN TIERNEY 7 Constantly looked to bomb on in support of Sinclair and should have scored in second half from danger areas. Rock solid defensively.

SCOTT BROWN 6 Skipper got clattered early on which seemed to knock him off his stride. But still kept Celts ticking over as they probed for goals.

OLIVIER NTCHAM 8 Superb display. Passing was purposeful and crisp – and then scored a stunning goal after an exquisite touch. Denied another by the bar.

JAMES FORREST 7 Started in the hole but he was more influential when shifted out wide and produced the key pass to put Edouard in for third goal.

CALLUM McGREGOR 7 Deployed on the right flank initially but was better when switched with Forrest and could find pockets of space. Hit the bar in second half.

SCOTT SINCLAIR 7 Lacking the confidence that he oozed in first year at Celtic but still caused Hedenstad a problem by either driving infield or going for the byeline. ODSONNE EDOUARD 8 Nothing is going to faze this kid as he proved with a cool finish for his first goal and then a sublime dink for his second. Menacing all night.

SUBS TOM ROGIC 3 Aussie replaced Ntcham (76) in his first game back as Celtic pushed for a fourth goal late on. Not used: Bain, Christie, Allan, Ralston, Johnston, Kouassi.

ROSENBORG Hansen, Hedenstad, Meling, Reginiussen, Jensen, Bendtner, Trondsen, Hovland, Levi, Helland (Gersbach 72), Lundemo (Soderlund 61). Not used: Vilhjalmsson, Dahl Reitan, Konradsen, Ostbo, Konradsen Ceide. Referee: B Vertenten (Belgium).
