Ruben has a Cheek to miss a pen

ROUND-UP & RESULTS

- UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2ND QUALIFYING RD 2ND LEG

ENGLAND World Cup star Ruben Loftus-Cheek came back down to earth with a bump last night.

The Russia 2018 semifinalist missed the decisive spot-kick for Chelsea as Arsenal came from behind to win the International Champions Cup clash in Dublin.

Fellow Blues kid, Callum Hudson-Odoi was brilliant, setting up Antonio Rudiger for the fifth-minute opener.

Chelsea should have been out of sight as Hudson-Odoi won a penalty, only for Petr Cech to save Alvaro Morata’s spot-kick.

Morata missed several other chances, and in injury-time Alexandre Lacazette earned Arsenal the shootout with a stoppage-time strike.

The Frenchman rammed the ball home from Reece Nelson’s cross to set up penalties, with Alex Iwobi converting the winner.

Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea looked to be on their way to a third-successive pre-season win – thanks to another electric showing from teen Hudson-Odoi.

Arsenal simply could not handle 17-year-old Hudson Odoi’s pace at the Aviva Stadium and Chelsea could have put this game to bed long before the leveller.

Chelsea took the lead when Rudiger thumped home a header from Cesc Fabregas’ corner.

Hudson-Odoi was then felled by Hector Bellerin in the area – but Morata shot too close to Cech.

Then the Spain striker miskicked from another Hudson-Odoi cross, fluffed a simple header – and then failed again when the youngster put him through one on one with Cech.

Arsenal saw Lacazette shoot wide when clean through, and young Chelsea keeper Marcin Bulka saved brilliantly from Iwobi.

But Lacazette had the last word. ROSENBORG ..... 0 CELTIC ............. 0
