Reality star blasts trolls over abuse

-

BY KELLY ALLEN LOVE Island’s Zara McDermott has been bombarded by “thousands of disgusting comments” urging her to have a boob job. But the 21-year-old, dating fellow islander Adam Collard, 22, refuses to bow to pressure to have surgery. She admitted hurtful remarks from trolls “wear people down to the point of no return”. Zara took to Instagram to blast the “bullying” after sharing a snap of herself in a tight bikini on a family holiday with Adam in Bulgaria. One troll posted: “Looks like she smooshed her t ** s together for the pic. “Why not just get a boob job to go with all the other plastic?” Zara replied: “A disgusting thing to say. Why wish surgery on someone? “I haven’t got any other ‘plastic’ in my body by the way.” She added: “If there is something I will never be able to accept about this industry, it’s the hate people give out. “People wonder why things such as anxiety and depression exist. This is the reason. “Luckily, I’m strong enough not to cave in and get the surgery.” Zara claims not to have had cosmetic ops but the majority of contestants on the ITV2 show admit to enhancing their bodies. Finalists Kaz Crossley, Laura Anderson and Megan BartonHanson said they had had boob jobs – with only the winner, Dani Dyer, being natural. Megan, 24, who came fourth with Wes Nelson, revealed she had also had her nose and lips done over the years. She said she turned to cosmetic surgery because it made her feel better and claimed boob jobs were “just like getting your hair done”.

Simon Stevens, NHS England boss, blasted the screening of adverts for diets and cosmetic surgery during the early weeks of the show airing.

ITV chief Carolyn McCall admitted they were wrong to air the commercials and will review the decision.

With an average television audience of four million, Love Island was the most-watched show by 16 to 34-year-olds this year – apart from the World Cup. ● Meanwhile, Love Island super fans desperate for another fix can while away the hours on its very first official game.

Like in the smash hit show, Love Island: The Game players can get grafting, mug people off, play cheeky challenges and couple up.

Users, who have to choose a female character, even have the choice to “get intimate”.

Choices made in the game will determine the story in the villa, which is a replica of the one in Majorca – complete with a luxury pool, fire pit and a massive communal bedroom.

Players get to choose their own “outrageous outfits”, as well as their name, skin tone, hair style and colour, and job.

The more “gems” unlocked, the more choice they get during gameplay.

The famous “I got a text” cry is incorporated to move the game along to the next level by announcing challenges.
