Joiner was carrying bit too much timber
AFTER BEFORE
BY ARTHUR VUNDLA reporters@dailyrecord.co.uk A JOINER who ate more than 8000 calories a day has shed 12st 6lb in 13 months after ditching his dodgy diet to become a personal trainer.
David Steele weighed 26st 9lb after gorging on double bacon and haggis rolls, crisps and three tins of energy drinks a day.
His weight spiralled out of control when he stopped going to the gym as work commitments piled up.
But the dad of two from Edinburgh, who had a 44-inch waist and wore XXXL T-shirts, began to fight back in June last year by setting up a home gym and attending a local Brazilian jiu-jitsu gym.
Now 14st 3lb, he wears medium-sized tops and 32-inch waisted trousers.
David, 27, decided to “stop making excuses” for himself and start valuing his health after seeing his wedding pictures from May last year.
He said: “Just bending over to tie my laces, I was out of breath and I was constantly tired all the time. I felt so horrible, like I was trapped in another man’s body.”
When he began his weight loss programme, he decided to find a job he could turn into a hobby.
He quit his job in July last year to study health and fitness and went on to become a personal trainer.
He said: “I feel like a teenager now. This is how I should be feeling.
“If I’ve been through this journey then everyone else can follow suit.”
