Comic’s blast at ‘parasite’ touts over tickets for tour
COMEDIAN Frankie Boyle has warned fans to avoid “parasite” touts who are flogging tickets for shows that aren’t sold out.
The Glaswegian was disgusted to see tickets for 10 nights of his Prometheus Vol III tour this month are being sold on sites such as Viagogo, StubHub and Get Me In!
The run of gigs at Edinburgh Playhouse and BY MARK McGIVERN Glasgow’s Theatre Royal, which kicked off last night, were on sale priced from £21 on primary seller sites Ticketmaster and ATG.
But resale sites were offering some briefs at more than double face value, plus hefty fees.
Boyle tweeted: “Please don’t buy tickets from tout sites, they are parasites. There are still tickets available at face value for every show except Friday in Edinburgh.”
The tout sites attract buyers by paying Google to be at the top of search results for tickets.
Google promised a crackdown earlier this year to demand that resale sites prominently display that ticket prices could be above face value. They did not comment yesterday.
