STEWARDESS CAN FLY

- BY GARRY OWEN

STEWARDESS (3.10) can dish it out to her rivals in the Smarkets Handicap on a cracking card at Haydock.

The Dandy Man filly built on some fair efforts since joining Richard Fahey when slamming

Silk Mill Blue in a competitive event at Ripon.

The three-year-old seemed to have plenty in hand that day and this well-treated type should follow up under the talented Connor Murtagh.

The in-form Fahey can also claim the feature fillies’ sprint with ZIP ALONG (4.10).

The Iffraaj filly has made rapid progress at three and looks well up to defying an 8lb hike after hammering the useful Bahamian Dollar at Nottingham. PURPLE ROCK (2.10) rates the most solid option in the Smarkets Betting Exchange Handicap.

Gay Kelleway’s gelding returned to form when just denied by Branscombe at Chelmsford last week and can go one better back up in trip.

The six-furlong contest is also tight but I’m siding with Jamie Osbourne’s BORN TO FINISH (3.40). The consistent five-yearold gained a well-deserved success at Bath recently and a 4lb hike won’t stop him following up for his shrewd handler. Peter Chapple-Hyam’s

MEDALLA DE ORO (4.40) looks gilt edged in the Premier League Handicap.

The Teofilo gelding was unlucky to run into progressive

Final Rock at Yarmouth and can build on that clear seasonal best. Course specialist KING

CRIMSON (2.00) can land the opener at Brighton for John Butler. The gelding proved as good as ever at six when striking at Leicester in June and can make a winning return to his favourite venue.

Thriving handler Luca Cumani can take the Brighton Challenge with ASHINGTON (3.30). The three-year-old failed to stay 1m 6f at Haydock but had been upwardly mobile over shorter and can bounce back dropped in trip.

AFFINA (4.00) can maintain Simon Crisford’s winning run in the Marathonbet Handicap. The

Kodiac filly was a good second over a mile in a hot Doncaster event last time and can improve again over an extra two furlongs.

And SHARP OPERATOR (4.30) can enjoy his third win at the Sussex venue in the ROR Handicap.
