DAY EIGHT
Double Olympic champion Whitlock makes his introduction to these Championships when the men’s team event starts at The Hydro at 10am. It’s the final day of competition at Tollcross with Florida-based Scot Mark Szaranek taking to the pool shortly after nine in the 400m IM heats. Nine medals will be decided tonight with GB’s James Guy going in the 100m butterfly at 5pm. Kirsty Law flies flag for Scotland when the women’s discus qualifying gets under way in Berlin at 8.30am.
Guy Learmonth is then up in heat two of the 800m at 10.37am before high jumpers Allan Smith and David Smith get started this evening with qualifying from half past six. It’s day two at Gleneagles with Scot Connor Syme teeing off at 10.45am in a four-ball matchplay against Ireland.
Recently-crowned Open champion Georgia Hall gets under way with Laura Davies at 9am against Germany. Loch Lomond plays host to the open water swimming this morning with GB double Olympic silver medalist Jazz Carlin among those going in the women’s 10km at 9.30am. The men dip into the water three hours later.
Great Britain diving duo Matthew Dixon and Noah Williams are up in the synchronised 10m platform final at 1.30pm, with the men’s 3m springboard to follow, with all the action at Scotstoun.
